Ayurveda in Daily Life Training Courses

The Courses are designed for resident guests taking Ayurveda treatment and who wish to learn more about specific aspects of Ayurveda and incorporate it in their daily life.

Course fee is fixed at a nominal price to enable guests to participate.

a) Ayurveda: A Concept for Anti-aging, Well Being and Beauty

Course Participants:   The focus of Ayurveda is on beauty that comes from good health and from within. Ayurveda how ever has some unique herbal therapies that lead to glowing skin and lustrous hair. The course will introduce the important principles of Ayurveda and gentle and non invasive ways of removing the tension from the face. Herbal formulas provide face scrubs, face packs and hair wraps.

Ayurveda treatment according to the individual treatment plan prepared for each guest is additional to the course.

b)Head and neck oil application (ShiroAbhyanga)

Course Participants:   The head controls and nourishes the five senses. Massage of the important points in the head, neck and shoulders is beneficial to the overall health and well being of a person. The Course teaches participants the techniques of spreading the oil on the head and massaging the scalp, the hair, the neck and the shoulders.

c) Hand, arm and shoulder oil application (Hasthi Abhyanga and Bhahu Abhyanga)

Course Participants:   The course introduces participants to the principles of Ayurveda and the techniques of oil application to improve flexibility of the fingers and the hands. Long hours at work and at the computer leads to the build up of tension along the hands and the shoulders and massage with proper Ayurveda oil can relax the limbs and take the tension out of the body. These techniques can be applied on one self with practice.

d) Ayurveda Food and Preparing Nutritious Meals

Course Participants:   Diet and food is increasingly recognized as one of the most important factors in maintaining good health. Ayurveda food can be tasty as well as being healthy. The course will give participants a good understanding of the dietary principles of Ayurveda and the correct combination of food. Participants can also learn how to make some of the favourite dishes form the Barberyn kitchen.
