Description: Perennial herb. Leaves 4 (- 6 or 8) whorled, ovate to obovate, 2 - 5 (- 9) X 1 - 2.5 (- 4) cm, above glabrescent to scabrous, below with a few coarsely recurved hairs on margin and midrib, apex acute to acuminate, base rounded to cordate. Inflorescence terminal and axillary, lax dichasial cymes. flowers 5-merous, white to greenish cream. Fruit glabrous, globose, 2.5 - 5 mm diameter, fleshy, shining purplish-black.
