Description: Tree up to 25 m tall. Leaves lamina 6 - 13 X 2.5 - 6.5 cm, obovate to broadly ovate, short acuminate apex, broadly cuneate at base, coriaceous, glabrous above, glabrous to finely and sparsely appressed pubescent beneath, drying grey above, pale brown beneath. Inflorescence axillary, male fasciculate on very short peduncles, female solitary or in groups of up to 6. Capsule 15 - 17 X c. 15 mm, broadly ellipsoid to ovoid-globose, bluntly trigonous, yellow-green. Seeds obovoid, glossy black.
