Description: A tall palm with an unarmed, cylindrical, annulate, trunk, 12-20 m tall, about 30 cm diameter. Leaves large , bipinnatisect, 6-7 m long, 3-5 m wide, arched and drooping leaflets 10-20 cm long, sessile, irregularly serrate-toothed on the truncate margins. Leaf sheath smooth with fibrous netted margins. Flowering when fully grown from axils of top leaves and then successively downward.
