Description: Annual herbs, 45 - 75 (-100) cm tall, glandular viscid and rank smelling. Leaves broadly elliptic or oblanceolate, the lower ones often pinnately or lyrately lobed, attenuate and subpetiolate at the base or petioled, acute or obtuse, apiculate at the apex, coarsely, and irregularly serrate-dentate, teeth subspinulose, glandular puberulent on both surfaces. Caitula 3 - 4 mm diam., numerous, in terminal panicles and on short axillary shoots from among the upper leaves. Flowers yellow; female corollas glabrous; hermaphrodite corollas lobes glandular puberulous. Achenes brown, pappus white.
