Description: Erect annual herbs up to 1 m tall. Stems terete, reddish, sparsely pubescent. Leaves oblong-lanceolate, 3 - 7 X 0.4 - 2 cm, sessile, cordate, auriculate at the base, auricles rounded, attenuate and subacuminate at the apex, margins serrate, pubescent on both surfaces, glandular punctate beneath. Capitula 5 - 6 mm diam. On slender peduncles. Flowers yellow; ray florets 25 - 30, ligule c. 5 mm long, 1 mm broad; disc florets narrowly tibular. Achenes oblong, brown, appressed white pubescent. Happus hairs 10, white.
