Description: Herbs, coarse and wiry, to 1 m or more. Leaves opposite, lanceolate to oblanceolate, 7 (- 10) X 1.5 (- 3) cm, acute, entire, base attenuate, uniformly scabrate above, but only on the veins beneath. Inflorescence irregular, nodding, racemose and 5 - 10 flowered, or solitary and axillary. Fruit of 4 nutlets, 4 mm by 3 mm, exterior surface smooth, the inner ridged and tuberculate.
