Description: Tree, up to 15 m tall, glabrous. Bark rather smooth, dark brown. Leaves thickly coriaceous; 3 x 20-11 x 30 cm, laterals visible. Flowers sessile, 1-3 together on a short peduncle in the axils of upper leaves; 7.5-11.5 cm diameter. Fruit dipressed globose, surrounded by enlarged sepals.
