Description: |
Short-lived perennial, tufted with short rhizome. Clums tufted or more or less solitary. Leaves 2 - 4 to a culm; blades elongated or reduced to lanceolate appendage of sheaths, flattish-plicate, herbaceous, smooth, sometimes scabrid distally, light green, gradually narrowed to acute apex. Anthelas compound to decompound, dense to subloose, leafy bracts 2 or 3, all shorter than to nearly equaling the anthela, or the lowest 1 or 2 slightly to much suppressing the anthela. Achenes broadly obovate, trigonous, cream-yellow.
