Description: Tree up to 20 m tall, evergreen. Leaves crowded at ends of branches; lamina 7 - 18 (-28) X 3.5 - 12 (-30) cm, from ovate to lanceolate or rhombic, entire, or shallowly 3 - 7-lobed, acute or obtuse, base obtuse or truncate, stellate-pubescent or tomentose, glabrescent, drying dark-brown above, pale beneath, margins thickened. Cymes up to c. 15 cm long, branched from base, densely stellate-tomentose, flowers numerous, white, pedicellate. Drupe subspherical, somewhat laterally compressed, usually 2-seeded. Seeds c. 2.5 cm long, broadly ovoid, smooth, pale brown.
