Description: Tree, 7 - 12 m tall, deciduous, glabrous. Leaves petiolate, lamina 6 - 1 X 3.5 - 7 cm, obovate to elliptic-lanceolate, acuminate, acute or obtuse at base, glabrous, cuneate-serrulate. Inflorescence 5 - 24 cm long, terminal, spicate, erect, robust, rigid, glabrous; male usually 15 - 20 (-24) cm, female 5 - 18 (-22) cm long. Fruit c. 6 X 8 - 10 mm, fleshy, 1 - 3 celled, ovoid or subglobose, obscurely lobed. Seeds 5 - 6 mm, broadly ovoid, pale yellowish-brown, shiny.
