Description: A treelet 3 - 7 m tall. Leaf blade 5 - 14 cm long, 4 - 9 cm wide, elliptical to almost orbicular, obtuse or rounded at both ends, short-decurrent along petiole, pubescent on upper side at least when young. Flowers green, solitary or paired from the base of leafy branchlets. Ripe fruit ovoid, mostly green, smooth or tuberculate but not furrowed between the areoles, the latter flat, impressed, or produced into a conical protuberance, pulp white, seeds blackish-brown, turning paler when dried.
