Description: A treelet 1 - 4 m tall. Leaf blade 2 - 11 cm long, 1 - 3.5 cm wide, narrowly obovate or oblong, obtuse, rounded or truncate and strongly asymmetrical at base, obtuse or rounded and sometimes adruptly short-acuminate at apex, membranous, glabrous above except along the midrib, sparsely pubescent beneath with colorless hairs. Flower yellowish-green, mostly suffused with purple, solitary, intermodal or more rarely leaf-opposed, usually arising half way in between two leaves. Fruitlets up to 18, almost spherical, purple, with some appressed pubescence or glabrate, long-stipitate. Seeds 1 or 2.
