Description: Vine, weak climber or reclining shrub to 2 m. stem rounded, glabrous or puberulous. Leaves opposite, simple, chartaceous- subcoriaceous, elliptic-oblong (-ovate), (2-) 4-7 (-10)X 1.5-3 (-3.5) cm, opposite pairs tending to form a slight ridge round the stem; lamina base generally rounded, subcuneate to subcordate, apex acuminate- acute (or obtuse), slightly apiculate. Inflorescence glabrous or villous, terminal on side shoots, cymose, subcapitate,(7-) 9-15 flowered. Fruit a paired berry, globose, 10mm diam., black when ripe.
