Description: Perennial vine; stem semi-woody; climbing by means of adventitious roortlets; nodes thickened; young parts glabrous. Leaves 15-20 cm long, cordate at base; petioles 1.8-2.5 cm long; stipules membraneous, enclosing the bud. Flowers dioecious in dense cylindrical spikes. Fruits quite immersed in fleshy spike.
